Its very common in the small lanes and alleyways in Melbourne these days, Bun. I’ve even seen them in the inner suburbs. All I can say is that instead of old shabby shoes, they getting nicer and newer at the practice becomes more common. Who’s got money to waste I wonder.
Love this shot. What is it about hanging shoes that is so intriguing? Who threw them up there, how long did it take…? Perfect in black and white, Vicki.
I don’t know what’s so intriguing, Jane, but many of the little lanes and alley ways in Melbourne are ‘decorated’ in such a way.
I think it must be the skill in the throwing (so they land either side of the wire) that appeals to the younger folk.
Great title, and for some reason I love seeing sights like this when I walk through metropolitan areas. Wishing you a fantastic 2017 ahead Vicki, one of health, happiness and continued success. Cheers!
I wonder if any of them would fit me? π

There’s not always much light in these inner city alley ways, Annika, but this one was fine for B & W.
